JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Spirit Tier List
Compare the launch roster by role and mode, see the confirmed SSR pool, and use a practical evidence-based method before investing.
Quick answer
- A definitive global-launch S-to-D ranking is not reliable yet because public rankings still rely on CBT2 data or creator opinion.
- Use the 11 confirmed SSR characters as a comparison pool, then judge range, Rush links, skills, stars, and team fit.
- Score characters separately for story, single-target World Boss, AoE, PvP, and support instead of forcing one universal order.
- Change a tier placement only after repeatable global-build tests, a balance update, or a newly verified skill interaction.

The English launch overview separates overall, single-target, AoE, and support opinions. Use it as a comparison prompt while checking your own global-build results.
Current Golden Spirit Tier List Verdict
The honest global-launch verdict is provisional: there is not yet a stable, independently tested S-to-D tier list for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Spirit. Available comparison material averages early, mid, and late performance, while labeling the work theoretical, simulator-based, and built from CBT2 data. Separate launch commentary leaves final rankings pending repeated testing on the global build.
That evidence does not make tier lists useless. It changes how they should be read. Treat a launch list as a set of testable priorities, not a permanent answer. The official game description highlights attack ranges, positioning, Rush attacks, Stand abilities, gear, and ascension. Those systems make a character's result depend on the fight and the rest of the formation.
Confirmed SSR Comparison Pool
The current English character index lists 50 playable entries from Parts 1 through 6 and identifies 11 SSR characters. This table is a comparison pool, not a universal ranking. Start here when you need to decide which high-rarity units deserve a controlled test.
| Character | Part | Fighting type | Listed Stand or style | First question to test |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Caesar Anthonio Zeppeli | Part 2 | Ranged | Hamon | Does his range keep damage active while the team creates Rush links? |
| Jotaro Kujo | Part 3 | Assault | Star Platinum | Can he stay in position long enough to convert close-range pressure into boss damage? |
| Mohammed Avdol | Part 3 | Special | Magician's Red | Which stage hazards or grouping situations let his unusual kit pay off? |
| Koichi Hirose | Part 4 | Special | Reverb Act 2 | Does his control or utility solve a specific encounter problem? |
| Giorno Giovanna | Part 5 | Support | Golden Wind | How much extra uptime or damage does the team gain from his support actions? |
| Bruno Bucciarati | Part 5 | Agility | Zipper Man | Does his movement or speed create a safer Rush sequence? |
| Prosciutto | Part 5 | Assault | Thankful Death | Does sustained close pressure remain active against the target's area attacks? |
| Diavolo | Part 5 | Agility | Emperor Crimson | Can the team exploit his timing and positioning without breaking its action order? |
| Cioccolata | Part 5 | Special | Green Tea | Does his control or damage-over-time value improve the chosen mode? |
| F.F. | Part 6 | Ranged | F.F. | Can ranged uptime survive the mode's movement and area pressure? |
| Ermes Costello | Part 6 | Defense | Smack | How much damage and Rush time does the team gain by keeping allies alive? |
The roster also includes many SR and R characters. A lower rarity unit with more stars, a required range, or a missing support effect can be the correct investment for an account. Rarity is a filter for where to look first, not a substitute for testing.
How to Build a Useful Tier List
Build your own shortlist with the same five checks every time:
- Name the job. Decide whether the slot must provide damage, protection, healing, Energy, control, or a Rush link.
- Check the range. The official combat system asks players to optimize different attack ranges, so a strong skill that cannot reach the target safely is a poor fit.
- Check the sequence. Test whether the character's actions connect into the Rush order your team can actually repeat.
- Check the investment. Record level, stars, gear, badges, and unlocked skills before comparing results. An unfinished kit can make a strong character look weak.
- Check the mode. Keep separate notes for story stages, World Boss single-target damage, AoE waves, PvP, and support value.
Use a short trial rather than a single damage screenshot. Run the same stage several times, keep the formation and action order fixed, then change one character or one piece of gear. Record damage, survival, Rush count, and the time needed to reach the key skill. That gives you a result you can reproduce when the roster changes.
Mode-Specific Priority Checks
| Mode | What to measure | Common mistake |
|---|---|---|
| Story stages | Clear speed, safe range, wave coverage, and recovery between fights | Ranking a single-target specialist above a reliable wave clearer for every chapter |
| World Boss | Stance-break timing, single-target uptime, Rush count, and survival through the boss cycle | Spending burst into immunity or damage reduction and blaming the character |
| AoE encounters | Coverage, grouping, cooldown rhythm, and whether damage reaches every wave | Treating a high boss number as proof of good wave control |
| Ranked PvP | Opening pressure, control, target access, and how the kit handles another player's formation | Copying a PvE order into a mode with active opponents |
| Support slot | Energy, buffs, debuffs, healing, control, and the damage gained by allies | Counting only the support unit's personal damage |
The official store page lists story stages, World Bosses, and ranked PvP as separate activities. The same character can therefore move between provisional bands without any contradiction. A support character may be a low-damage pick in a farm stage and still be the best answer when a World Boss requires Energy or Rush uptime.
What Would Change the Rankings
Update a placement when the evidence changes in a way that can affect real teams:
Repeatable global-build tests
Run the same character across several accounts or upgrade states, with a recorded formation and action order. One showcase account can reveal a ceiling, but it cannot establish a general tier.
A balance or content update
New stages, a World Boss mechanic, a PvP rule, a skill-value change, or a new equipment interaction can change the value of range, control, and Rush timing. Date every change so an old test does not look current.
A verified skill interaction
Confirm the interaction in the live client, then test it more than once. Closed-beta notes, translated tooltips, and creator predictions are useful leads, yet they need a global-build check before they move a placement.
A clear account-investment boundary
Record whether the comparison is at one star, a completed kit, or a high-duplicate account. A tier list that hides this boundary can mislead new players who cannot reproduce the same unlocks.
