How to Choose Characters to Build

Start with the job your formation lacks. A Ranged unit can keep pressure on a target while a Defense unit buys time. Support and Special characters may create the Rush or control window that lets damage land.

  1. Identify the needed role, range, and target pattern for the stage or boss.
  2. Check whether fighting type and skills connect to your available Rush chain.
  3. Compare star progress and unlocked kit effects. A complete lower-rarity kit can be more useful today than an SSR with effects still locked.
  4. Spend gear and skill materials on characters you can repeat across the modes you play.
  5. Re-test after a balance update, new boss, or new skill interaction.
